Why your story matters…

Sharing our stories can be part of a healthy grieving process and provide a creative outlet for our grief.

Reading about the grief journey of others can help us find the acceptance and understanding that we long for.

The truth is that grief will offer profound lessons within the healing process, and that’s what we want people to know.

There are no rules for moving through the stages of grief, and sharing our stories can help others navigate their grief process.

Story Writing Tips

  • The key to writing a successful story for The Death Network is authenticity. Your story will be more engaging if you stay true to yourself and your unique experiences with death and grief.

  • Authenticity often requires a level of vulnerability, and it's okay to open up and share your thoughts and feelings with our community. We honor and respect that each individual has a different vulnerability comfort level and we only want you to share what is within your comfort zone.

  • Sharing personal anecdotes and experiences can be a great way to lighten your story. Your readers will appreciate the insight into your life and will be able to relate to your stories on a personal level.

  • Being authentic in your storytelling allows you to express yourself in a way that feels true to who you are. You'll also be able to inspire others who share in your grief and understand the process of healing, which can have life-changing impact on us all.
